A Pythia (pie-thee-a) was one of the high priestesses at the Oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece.  There were many of these women as the Oracle was in use for nearly 400 years.

Being the high priestess meant that she was revered for her most accurate predictions and she could see beyond the veil to other worlds as well. There have been few humans throughout history who have success in “seeing” as astoundingly as the Pythia.
