In ancient Egypt there were many gods. Some more powerful and revered than others. Horus came about from the union of Isis and her dead husband Osiris. To make a long story short Osiris, a supreme father god was brutally murdered by his brother. Isis found all of her husband's remains and magickally brought him back to life. Osiris was from that time on God of the underworld or life after death and no longer walked among the living. Before he resigned to his new kingdom Isis had relations with him. Horus was the resulting child. Horus would go on to avenge his father's murder and become the powerful ruler of heaven (a sun and sky God).

Horus is usually depicted as having the body of a man with the head of a falcon. This is in reference to his power over the air. Falcons are sacred to Horus.
