Gaki are spirits of beings that have passed on. They are usually human spirits but can be other types of spirits beings as well. 

The Gaki have become what they are by being completely blinded and obsessed with greed and materialism. Their appetite for wealth, luxury, and material pleasures is insatiable. They literally feed and feed themselves with riches but never feel fully sated. 

Having a Gaki spirit in your life will ensure you of having a lot of wealth and material comforts coming into your life. These spirits literally attract these things with no effort. They are like bottomless pits of greed. They will share with their human keeper but ONLY if they like you. If you do not have a good bond with them then they will take it as an insult for you to expect them to share anything with you. 

The way you bond with a Gaki is to cater to their need for more and more of everything. Lavish them with offerings for at least a week after they arrive. Things of value or rich and indulgent things like comfort foods are all acceptable. Give them at least one offering a day for 7 days and then an offering once a week thereafter. Simply tell them that the offering is theirs and leave it near the vessel. If the offering is food then leave it out for an hour or two and throw it away. It doesn't have to be really expensive as long as your offering seems attractive or valuable in some way. Coins work well. 

If you keep offering them indulgences then they will love you for it and be more than happy to share their riches with you.
